Beaches near Mangalore

Panambur Beach : 


Panambur beach is the famous beach of Mangalore. It is 13Km from Mangalore on the north of the National Highway. 

Surathkal Beach :


This picturesque beach is known for its clean surrounding and its light house. Surathkal Beach is one of the most commonly visited places that are located in the Mangalore city in Karnataka. Surathkal, 15 km from the centre of Mangalore is located in southern region of Karnataka.

Tannirbavi Beach :

This is one of the best beaches of Dakshina Kannada.  One can enjoy the sunset view here.  It is about 12 Km. away from Mangalore Bus Stand.   

Someshwar Beach :


It is situated 11 Kms away from Mangalore main City Bus Stand.  The great rock lying on this beach is a great attraction for Tourists. 

Beaches near Udupi

Malpe Beach :


Malpe is a major fishing harbor in the west coast and a quiet drive along its fabulous beach is indeed thrilling. This place is situated 5 Km west of Udupi town and endowed with natural beauty.

St. Mary’s Island :

St Mary's Island, Udupi.St. Mary’s Island is situated nearly 58 km north of Mangalore and near Malpe Port. This place is situated 5 Km west of Udupi town which takes visitors by surprise with its natural beautiful scenes. This is a picnic spot. Vasco da Gama was supposed to have reached the shores in 1498 before reaching Calicut.

Maravanthe Beach :

Along the seacoast about 55Kms from Udupi, is a captivating place called Maravanthe. In between the Seacoast and the River bank passes the west coast highway N.H. 17. This is a popular tourist spot with memorable scenic beauty.



Distance from Mangalore to Goa is 357 Kilometers. The best time to go is reckoned to be between the end of November and late March. It starts to get pretty hot from April onwards and the monsoon generally arrives in June - storms and heavy rain for months.

Gokarna :

Gokarna falls on the way to Goa nearly 225 kms from Mangalore. Just a few kms off the highway. It is home to a beautiful beach called the 'OM' beach.


Bengre is 2 Km. away from Mangalore main City Bus Stand via Boat & Bus.

Beautiful scenaries

Lighthouse Hill Park:

This light house hill is situated at a distance of two kilometers Mangalore. Also know as Tagore Park is a beautiful park and a favorite hangout for the youngsters. It is located in the heart of the Mangalore city.

Turtle Bay :


Turtle Bay Beach Resort Forty kilometers from Mangalore on National Highway 13. Turtle Bay is just a beach resort, if you go a little ahead from the resort on the Highway there is this beautiful stretch of road having sea on one side and backwaters on the other.

Coorg :


Coorg is situated on the Western Ghats of Karnataka in South India and the distance from Mangalore to Coorg is 136 kms. For the adventurous at heart, it is an absolute treat. There are trekking, golfing and angling (Mahaseer too!) options available.

Kerala :


Kerala border is just 70 kilometers from Mangalore. The 300-year-old Bekal Fort, shaped like a giant key-hole, is one of the largest and best-preserved forts in Kerala.

Kudremukh :


Some 35 kms from Nitte, Kudremukh is again a pleasure ride. There is a Dam that you can visit bu the best thing about the trip is again the ride. Kudremukh literally mean Horse face. It is so called, for its mountain ranges look like the face of a horse.

Agumbe :

Agumbe is a hill station. The best part of going to Ugumbe is the ride. Beautiful sceneries will surround you all through the way. This place is around 46 kms from Udupi.
JogFalls :

Is situated in Shimoga district about 178.0 km (takes about 2 hrs, 41 mins) away from Udupi. At Jog, the river Sharavathy flowing over a rocky bed, splits into separate streams called as Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer. Considered as one of the highest waterfalls in the world, the cascading waters seen to descend from the heaven riding on the arch of a rainbow
